The cornhole distance or “cornhole board distance” has dimensions of 120 cm in length and x 60 cm in width. At least that’s how it is in the American version. There is a smaller version played by DeCoV (Deutscher Cornhole distance), where the board is only 90cm long.

The hole in the board has a diameter of 15 cm and is located in the middle of the upper part. The board distance is 23 cm from the top edge of the board to the center of the hole. More details can be found in the assembly instructions.

Die Corn-Bags

The corn bags are rectangular “fabric bags” that are usually made of jeans or something similar. The 15×15 cm bags are usually filled with 450gt corn. A set consists of 4 corn bags in one color. Opposing teams must use different colors or otherwise make their respective corn sacks easily recognizable so that they can be easily distinguished for scoring.

The cornhole distance pitch

Any flat surface that is at least 11-12m long and 3m is suitable as a playing field. is wide. The boards are exactly opposite each other with a distance of 8m to the lower edge of the board.

Of course, it is a good idea to adjust the distance between the boards to suit the circumstances in leisure games. Children will enjoy the game much more if the boards are closer together and you will hit more.

Player positions at the cornhole board distance

The players of a team also stand opposite each other on one side of the cornhole board distance, which can make the whole thing even more difficult, depending on whether you are throwing with the left or the right. When throwing, the active player is as close as possible to the front edge of the board.

How to play

In the cornhole distance game, throwing takes turns, always onto aboard. If a player hits the hole, he gets 3 points, if the bag stays on the board, he gets 1 point. You don’t get a point if you don’t hit the board or if the bag comes to rest on the edge of the board and touches the ground. Of course, a sack can also be hit by the next corn bag and pushed off the board, or a corn bag lying on the board is pushed into the hole by your own or an opponent’s corn bag. The points are then adjusted accordingly.

Finally, the points are added up, but only the difference is counted. For example, if Team A scores three points and Team B only one point, Team A will be awarded two points. The team that reaches a total of 21 points first wins.

Official Cornhole distance Rules:

The official cornhole rules are explained here in four simple steps.

1. Basics

Cornhole (or “Bean Bag Toss”) is a tossing game in which two teams of two compete against each other. The goal is to throw bags onto a board to score points.

2. Pitch construction

The game is played on a flat surface. Two cornhole board distance are placed opposite each other eight meters apart. To the left and right of the board is a shooting zone (roughly cornhole board distance) in which one player from each team stands (see diagram overleaf). Lots decide whether a player is in the left or right throwing zone.

3. Gameplay

A cornhole distance game consists of several sets, which in turn are divided into rounds. In a round, the two players, each standing at a board, take turns throwing one bag after the other onto the board opposite them. The number of points achieved is then calculated and included in the total score. Then the other two players take turns throwing one bag after the other onto the board opposite them.

If a team reaches 21 points first, it wins the set. After a set, a change of ends follows, with each player positioned in the same shooting zone (left or right) as in the set before. The game is over when one team wins two sets.

Who opens the first round will be decided by drawing lots. In the following rounds, the team that won the last round (or the penultimate one in the event of a tie) always starts first. This also applies to the following sentences.

4. Scoring

The position of the bag after a throw determines the points it earns. The following points are awarded:

  • one point for a bag that remains on the board
  • three points for a bag that falls through the hole in the board
  • no points for bags that touch the ground

If a player throws over the front edge of the board next to which he is standing, the throw does not count and the bag is immediately removed from the field. Bags that land on the board or fly through the hole but have previously had contact with the ground are also removed from the field. All other bags remain on the field for the entire round. Within around it is therefore possible for each player to push the bags lying on the board off the board or through the hole with other bags – whether their own bags or those of the opponent. At the end of a round, the difference in points is calculated and included in the score of the set. So if at the end of a round, Team A has two bags in the hole (twice 3 points), one on the board (1 point), and one on the floor (0 points), Team B has one bag in the hole (3 points), one on the board (1 point) and two on the floor (twice 0 points), Team A won the round by a margin of 3 points. The 3 points are awarded to Team A based on the score of the set
